EHF Cup: Drawing on Thursday

The matchups for the 3rd qualification round of the 2016-17 EHF Cup will be drawn on Tuesday, 18 October at 11 am at the headquarters of the European Handball Federation (EHF) in Vienna. That is the round in which the MT will enter into the competition. The third round, like all others, involves a home and away leg. The team with the better goal differential at the end qualifies for the group phase starting in February.

Other teams starting in the third round (besides the MT) are: Frisch Auf Göppingen, Abanca Ademar Leon (ESP), St. Raphael Var Handball (FRA), Helvetia Anaitasuna (ESP), HC Midjylland (DEN), RD Riko Ribnica (SLO), Grundfos Tatabanya KC (HUN), Azoty-Pulawy (POL), SC Magdeburg, Frainkin BM Granollers (ESP) and GOG Gudme (DEN), as well as four teams that failed to advance in the Champions League qualification. Those teams will all be assigned, by random drawing, one of the winning team from the 2nd qualification round of the EHF Cup.

The drawing will be broadcast live Tuesday as an internet stream on the EHF Facebook page and on the EHF YouTube channel. There will also be live updates on the EHF ticker and Tweets on the EHV Twitter channel.

The first leg of the 3rd qualification round will be played on 19/20 November and the second leg on 26/27 November. The winner based on goal differential will then advance to the group phase, which throws off on 11 February 2017.
